Hello Everyone,

It’s Thomas typing here, wanting to believe that you have been well recently.

Happy Holidays from all of us at ME.mory

This entry may well come as a surprise seeing how we have been quiet lately with our last post during mid-September.

Such is the result of there being not much to say publicly regarding ME.mory’s current status and as our updates have been interior with our efforts rather than exterior.

We have applied to two separate business accelerator programs, which I will wait to name until we proceed in either one if that is to occur. We are encouraged by both applications though for two reasons:

  1. Our application was accepted by the committee of one of the programs, such that it now must be approved by the funding board.
  2. The other program thanked us for our application, noting that we would hear back from them next week.

And so, like so many of us in many of the other aspects of our lives, we wait.

Life has been steady and calm. Such words can feel enough like synonyms for “boring” that I strive to keep variety within my days. I continue to develop a small amount of skill on the piano, with my practicing the F major scale for the first time today. It’s a pleasure solely to have a hobby for a sense of change and growth during these times.

Nick and his team have focused their efforts on an art project drawing attention to moments in modern life for maternal figures and titled “Only a Mother”. Check it out here: https://www.facebook.com/OnlyAMother/

While we may have very exciting news between now and the end of this year, it’s entirely possible that we very well may not. Uncertainty has remained as a theme for this year. In Philadelphia some establishments have closed permanently (exs. Boot & Saddle, Riverview movie theater) such that I know the city will look different after we are on the other side of COVID-19.

Yet I also can imagine how it will look different from today. Next year is almost certain not to end how this year is ending. I anticipate greater developments in the year ahead. I expect that we will secure greater funding for ME.mory and a return to public engagement on a greater scale.

Anticipate hearing from us again come early next year. Unless we have exciting news which we simply cannot wait to share.

Bye 2020. I cannot sincerely write that we will miss you.

See you all in 2021.
